Challenger Disaster OPT IN

Due to the freezing temperatures on the day of launch the rubber bands that usually would bend and hold the sections of the shuttle together also became frozen which made them loose there elastic property where in turn they could not bend properly and caused a leaking of gas to come out of the space shuttle.

This was a huge set back for the space program and a tragedy that should have been avoided for the nation. It took away a lot of support for an industry that is very expensive and hard to gain support for something that some people find worthless.

Other problems shuttles have encountered is the actual return from earth which can be very complicated when the shuttles become damaged while the shuttle is on its way or in space.
