Survival at Sea Game

My list in order: 25 liters of water, case of army rations, sextant, 2 boxes of chocolate bars, 10 liters of oil/petrol mix, small transistor radio, shaving mirror, 15ft nylon rope, fishing kit, 20 square feet of opaque plastic sheeting, floating seat cushion, can of shark repellent, bottle of 160 proof rum, mosquito netting, maps of pacific

My top three was water, rations and sextant because I felt it was most important to get water first of all and have food because it is most likely going to be a long trip where food and water will be scarce also if you have a sextant you can find some sort of baring based of your prior knowledge of the location you would be sailing in

My bottom three was the rum, mosquito netting and maps of pacific because I didn't think that the rum would be necessary to the extent it could be used for disinfecting and there would be little need for mosquito blockage so far away from shore and your in the Atlantic not the pacific so you don't need those maps

Team List in order: water, army rations, chocolate bars, fishing kit, shaving mirror, sextant, radio,  nylon rope, oil, plastic sheeting, seat cushion, rum, shark repellent, mosquito netting, maps of the pacific ocean

Top 3 water, rations and chocolate  because we thought all the food and water was the best way to preserve your survival for the longest time while waiting for rescue we came to this because it is unlikely that you will be rescued early on in your journey so you need to be able to last.

Bottom 3 maps, netting and shark repellent since the maps are of the pacific they are of no use to us, since there is no mosquitoes in the middle of the ocean the netting is relatively useless and since a shark attack is not likely the repellent is nearly useless

My group came to our answers through discussion and relation of what scores we all had at the top in relation to the scores of the top of the other members and also leaving some up to debate.

The coast guard had some more extreme ratings than ours putting signaling infront of having water and some other items that had lifesaving potential that one might not normally see in the object.
